House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) has temporarily delayed a vote in the House of Representatives, giving us more time to petition to repeal Obamacare, the $2.5 Trillion dollar government takeover of your health care and one-sixth of the U.S. economy, which President Obama signed into law 10 months ago. H.R. 2 and H.R. 9 are two important bills that the Republican Majority in the House promised during campaigns, and we need a strong showing by those conservatives we helped elect, for three reasons:
1. Obamacare law funds abortion with our tax-dollars, despite President Obama’s judicially unenforceable Executive Order that pretends to save the unborn while funding their destruction.
2. Obamacare mandates health-care rationing which creates "death panels" for the elderly by diverting their Medicare funds to young unemployed welfare recipients, and forcing Medicare physicians into bankruptcy.
3. Obamacare creates socialist government-control of 1/6th of the U.S. economy under massive bureaucracies that hurt businesses, cost jobs, and don’t care for patients like private doctors do.
We need to take immediate action and petition all 435 Congressmen and 100 Senators to approve H.R. 2 and H.R. 9, which do two things:
So let’s take action today…
Do you remember the legislative battle in the House and Senate last March? Former Congressman Bart Stupak (D-MI) betrayed conservatives by claiming to be pro-life, then voting with Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) to fund abortion. Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) did the same, betraying innocent children in the Senate. They initiated a phony compromise with President Obama who signed a toothless Executive Order (which conflicts with the law, and is unenforceable in court) to give them top-cover to claim they’re not funding abortion, when the law they all passed specifically stated on page 117:
"(ii) ABORTIONS FOR WHICH PUBLIC FUNDING IS ALLOWED.—The services described in this clause are abortions for which the expenditure of Federal funds appropriated for the Department of Health and Human Services is permitted, based on the law as in effect as of the date that is 6 months before the beginning of the plan year involved." [That's a direct quote from the law they passed.]
In other words, Democrats lied when they claimed Senator Nelson’s "compromise" with pro-abortion Senator Boxer (D-CA) somehow prevented public tax-payer funding of abortion, and only permitted private funding of abortion (as if that should be allowed either). And Planned Parenthood clearly lied in their analysis of the law, when they claimed "forcing individuals to write two separate checks (both of which are out of private funds) and requiring health plans to administer two different payments of private funds is not necessary to insure public funds are not used for abortion care." No public funds? Really?
They lied, plain and simple, because the law quoted above now reads ABORTIONS FOR WHICH PUBLIC FUNDING IS ALLOWED through the Department of Health and Human Services, subsidizing child-killing of innocents with your tax-dollars, so welfare-moms can kill their child for a $12 co-pay, while Planned Parenthood gets rich charging YOU thousands of tax dollars against your will. No wonder both Stupak and Nelson were labeled traitors by every credible pro-life group in America. No wonder 32% of all voters self-identified as conservative Christian voted 78% for Republicans this past November, and threw out Stupak and Pelosi (and will soon throw out Nelson in 2012).
But the horrible Obamacare law remains law, until we help repeal it. So let’s get it done…
President Obama gave cover to pro-abortion Democrats, by offering to sign a phony Executive Order that would try to implement the 33-year old ban on federal abortion funds, except in the cases of familial or forced impregnation. But any such EO does not have power to override the new pro-abortion law created in the Obamacare bill. Douglas Johnson of National Right to Life told LifeNews.com, "If the bill is signed into law, these statutory requirements and defects are not subject to correction or nullification by the chief executive or his appointees, whether by Executive Order, regulation, or otherwise." And Obama’s empty promise is compounded by his previous executive orders to fund abortion, such as the one he signed canceling the "Mexico City Policy" and extending massive abortion funding overseas. They can’t be trusted. We must make our stand now.
Let me be clear. We must oppose Obamacare under any circumstances. Let’s say no.
Congressman Stupak lied to National Review, "They’re ignoring me…I am a definite ‘no’ vote. I didn’t cave. The others are having both of their arms twisted…At this point, there is no doubt that they’ve been able to peel off one or two of my twelve."
Shortly thereafter Stupak himself joined Obama, and almost all Democrats voted to fund abortion with your tax-dollars.
Now Stupak’s pro-abortion vote is the law, unless we repeal it, and stop Obamacare. Don’t have time to fax 535 Congressmen? We fax instantly, on real paper. Just sign our petition…
Meanwhile pro-abortion Congresswoman Diana DeGette (D-CO), the co-chairwoman of the abortion-rights-supporting caucus, correctly predicted the abortion issue wouldn’t stop Obamacare. "I don’t think Congressman Stupak has the votes to kill healthcare legislation over his language not being in there," DeGette told The Hill newspaper.
She believed that even if Stupak’s 12 moderates hold firm (which they didn’t), the vote count was too close to call, because some of the extreme liberals who voted against Pelosi-care the first time (for lacking a clear ‘public option’) could switch and vote for the Senate version of Obamacare this time around. DeGette was right. They forced the Senate version through the House without debate. Please call your Congressman and both Senators today at 202-225-3121 and say: "you are not pro-life unless you vote to de-fund abortion. Please vote ‘YES’ on H.R. 2 and H.R. 9 today." Then call every Congressman in your state.
Don’t have time to make dozens of phone calls? Simply SIGN OUR FAX-PETITION and we will fax your petition to all 535 Congressmen and Senators. We save you time…
Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council also condemned Obama’s plan: "It also calls for $11 billion for community health centers with no restrictions on funding abortions, [can you say Planned Parenthood?] mandates so-called ‘preventative’ services for women including abortion, reauthorizes the Indian Health Act without abortion funding restrictions, and creates a national plan run by the Office of Personnel Management to contract with plans that include abortion."
Stupak deceived the New York Times claiming he and 12 "blue-dog" Democrats would try to sink the entire bill, unless their partially pro-life demands were met. Obama didn’t meet them, so they caved in, and voted for Obamacare WITH tax-payer funded abortions.
Susan B. Anthony List president Marjorie Dannenfelser told LifeNews.com the health care summit is a great time for Obama to retreat on his demand to fund abortions: "So in this new conciliatory mode, if he ignores the 80-percent consensus opposing abortion coverage in healthcare, the most intractable and divisive issue thus far, he reveals what many have suspected from the beginning – that abortion ideology is more precious to this president than his top domestic priority." So let’s help de-fund child killing, right now…
Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) also caved in to pressure from the White House, and broke his pledge to "draw a line in the sand" against abortion funding, by instead reaching a compromise with pro-abortion Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) to fund some elective abortions with our tax-dollars. According to the Washington Post, Nelson bargained for extra Medicaid money for Nebraskans, and an accounting-scheme that citizens choosing the abortion option in their subsidized "health" care plans must write separate checks for abortion co-pays. Senator Boxer admits not getting the total abortion funding she wanted, but Boxer claimed victory over conservative versions of the house bill that would prohibit tax-funding for all abortions except life of the mother, or familial or forced impregnation.
Please call both your Senators and your Congressman today at 202-225-3121 today and tell them "You are not pro-life unless you filibuster abortion, and oppose and filibuster the entire Obama-Reid plan to kill children with our tax-dollars. Abortion isn’t health care."
Then please join our fax-campaign, and we will fax your petition to all 100 Senators and all 435 Congressmen. WE CAN REPEAL OBAMACARE….if you help today.
Friends, our nation stands in the midst of a spiritual war to save or destroy unborn babies and the elderly. You and I stand in this battle together. We must stand strong!
P.S. Time is urgent! Only days remain until the FINAL HOUSE VOTE to repeal Obamacare! Please don’t delay, but sign our petition today! Prefer to donate by mail? Please mail paper check or money orders to: The Pray In Jesus Name Project, PO Box 77077, Colorado Springs, CO 80970.
